Hello! My name is Tony Ravida and I welcome
you to the NY Security Guard Training
Center web site! I want to take this
opportunity to thank you for visiting. The fact
that you are here indicates to me that you are
interested in either becoming a security guard
and attending our mandated 8 hour pre-
assignment course, our 16 hour on-the-job
training module or the annual in service
training. Upon successful completion of our
courses you will receive a certificate
evidencing satisfactory completion of the
course. These certificates are the only ones
authorized for documenting successful
completion of the course and MAY NOT BE
MODIFIED IN ANY WAY.
The 8 hour pre-assignment course consist of

·        Legal Powers and Limitations
·        Emergency Situations
·        Communications and Public Relations
·        Access Control
·        Ethics and Conduct
·        Review and Examination
